CAPACITY UPGRADE KIT SR20DET 2.2L STEP1 86.5 In response to market demand, we are adding a φ86.5 piston specification to the SR20DET 2.2L KIT. You can choose between φ86.5 (STEP 1) and φ87.0 (STEP 2) depending on the condition of your cylinder block and the engine specifications you require. ■Features <POINT-1> This is a KIT that increases the standard displacement of the SR20 from 1,998cc to 2,139cc. The difference in displacement results in an overwhelming difference in torque, making it possible to combine it with a larger-volume turbine. *STEP2φ87.0 is 2,164cc. <POINT-2> The φ86.5 specification being released this time is positioned as the 2.2L STEP1, and by omitting the surface treatment on the piston used in STEP2 (the conventional φ87.0 model), we have made it more affordable. Please consider this when overhauling your car. And feel the "power" of the 2.2L. ※Although it is STEP1, it uses forged pistons, forged connecting rods, and forged cranks that are the same as STEP2, and the corresponding output is the same. *The previously available Φ87.0 specification is positioned as STEP 2, and features nickel plating on the piston head for superior durability in the unlikely event of knocking, and ober coating on the skirt to reduce friction loss. <POINT-3> Reliable MADE IN JAPAN (manufactured in-house by HKS). Newly designed φ86.5 specification for STEP1. Forged piston for high strength. (STEP2 uses nickel-plated, ober-coated, and titanium-coated TOP ring) [When using a used cylinder block as a base] Due to distortion, boring and honing with a diameter of 0.5 mm may not produce a perfect circle. (This is true for all engine models.) If a perfect circle is not produced, accurate assembly will not be possible. Therefore, we recommend φ87.0 STEP2 with 1.0 mm boring and honing. The φ87.0 STEP2 is nickel-plated to increase durability against knocking. [When using a relatively new block or a new block as a base] We recommend φ86.5, anticipating that φ87.0 will be usable at the next engine overhaul. [When performance is the top priority] We recommend φ87.0 for a new block. (Increasing the displacement even slightly is advantageous in terms of performance.)
